My husband and I go way back. We met as early as middle school, though back then he was known as “Bird Boy”… and I wasn’t exactly impressed. But in high school, everything changed. He caught my attention playing Lil’ Wayne in the school parking lot—and won my heart with his fun-loving spirit.
We’ve built this life side by side: attending East Carolina together, graduating, getting married, and now raising the most incredible children. These four are my whole world. Their love and support fuel everything I do. They’re my why—and my constant reminder of how meaningful it is to freeze time through a photograph.
I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today without my beautiful family.
I photographed my first wedding in 2011, right after convincing my dad to co-sign a Best Buy credit card. He thought I was just buying a laptop for school—but I walked out with a Canon Rebel T3i and a flat screen, too. Safe to say he regretted it… at least until that “little hobby” turned into a full-blown career. (The card’s paid off now. He forgives me.)
Throughout college and into the years after graduation, I worked steadily as a photographer. Eventually, I followed another calling and pursued a nursing degree, spending five to six years in the emergency room. It was intense, important work—but after having my daughter, I wanted to be home. I picked up a camera again, this time to document our memories, and the spark came rushing back.
Only now, I wasn’t treating it like a side hustle—I was all in. I invested in myself: learning business, refining my editing style, and studying the art of storytelling through photography.
Running a business while raising a family has been all-consuming—but it’s also been one of the greatest joys of my life. I don’t take a single moment I capture for granted. Whether it’s your wedding day, your growing family, or your brand’s story, it’s my honor to preserve it with heart, intention, and artistry.
